Duke, UNC and Vanderbuilt University Form the NIDA CTN Mid-Southern Node

Congratulations to researchers from Duke, UNC, and Vanderbuilt University on being funded by NIDA on Sept 15, 2015 to form the Clinical Trials Network Mid-Southern Node

NCNC looks forward to a rich and rewarding collaboration that will improve outcomes for patients across the mid-South region.

The National Drug Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network (CTN) is a means by which medical and specialty treatment providers, treatment researchers, participating patients, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse can cooperatively develop, validate, refine, and deliver new treatment options to patients.

This unique partnership enables the following:

  • Conducting studies of behavioral, pharmacological, and integrated behavioral and pharmacological treatment interventions of therapeutic effect in rigorous, multi-site clinical trials to determine effectiveness across a broad range of community-based treatment settings and diversified patient populations; and
  • Ensuring the transfer of research results to physicians, clinicians, providers, and patients.
